IISC’s Vision

IISC’s Vision of the Future is the emergence of a global “beloved community” with social justice for all and sustainability for the planet.

We see a world in which people and nations participate as global citizens and actively build and support agreements that foster justice, peace, and fair access to resources. They do this because they believe in the interconnectedness of people and the planet. In this world, people share power responsibly while living out the values of equality, generosity, and respect. People of all ages are cherished and nurtured into healthy, fully engaged members of their communities, where they develop their individual and collective potential and take action on issues that affect their lives.

IISC’s Mission

IISC’s Mission is to ignite and sustain social transformation, catalyze collective action, and build collaborative skill to bring alive our vision of a just and sustainable world.

We accomplish this by providing network-building, consulting, facilitation, leadership development, and training services designed to transform communities, schools, and organizations and build the capacity of leaders of social change.

IISC works in partnership with those in every sector of society who are committed to social justice, including:

• leaders in marginalized communities and those who work with them;

• organizations, convenors, leaders and educators who work at the local, national or global levels; and

• collaboratives, networks, and coalitions focused on policy change or social impact.

IISC’s Values

IISC is committed to stepping into the most fundamental of all values: “the love that does justice.” In addition, all of us at IISC—both individually and collectively—are committed to translating our core values into values in action as we move through each and every day.
